Privacy policy

Upload.bike is designed to keep your data out of our hands. This page explains what little data touches a server and how it is used.

In short

Effective date: August 6, 2026.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies, first-party or third-party. It loads no advertising, remarketing, or analytics scripts and embeds no third-party widgets. The only external scripts used to run the site are the Alpine.js framework and the hosted WebAssembly converter, neither of which identifies you.

Your workout files

All conversion happens locally in your browser using WebAssembly. Uploaded files are read, converted, and exported entirely on your device. They are never transmitted to a server. Source code is public on GitHub for review.

Local browser storage

We use your browser's localStorage to remember display preferences: the color theme and your body mass and units. This data stays on your device, is never sent to us, and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

Anonymous usage beacon

After a successful conversion, the site sends a single anonymous event that records only the type of file or equipment converted (for example a Schwinn or Stages format). It contains no file contents, no names, and no personal data, and is used solely to understand which formats are worth supporting.

Server and hosting logs

Like any website, our hosting provider and content delivery network record standard technical data: IP address, browser type, request time, and the page requested. This is required to operate and secure the site. Retention and handling are governed by the provider's own policies, which we do not control.

Contact by email

If you email us at upload.bike@gmail.com, we use the information you send only to respond to your message. We do not add you to mailing lists or share your address.

Your rights

California residents: under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) we do not sell, share, or disclose personal information. To the extent any personal information is collected as described above, you may request a copy, correction, or deletion by emailing upload.bike@gmail.com.

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Questions about this policy can be sent to upload.bike@gmail.com or raised on GitHub.
